Thorpe Park Resort is also home to exciting family attractions such as young thrillseeker favourite Angry Birds 4D Experience, the iconic Flying Fish junior coaster and the gravity-defying spintastic fun of Zodiac and magic carpet ride Quantum.
Read on to find out more about some of our previous rides and experiences which are no longer available for guests:. Since the early 80s, alongside the theme park and rides Thorpe Park guests could jump on the Canada Creek Railway or Waterbuses over to the working Thorpe Farm. Guests could visit the farm and get up close and personal with a wide selection of farm animals including sheep, cows, pigs, goats, Shire horses and Shetland ponies as well as watching sheep shearing and animal births depending on the season.
Despite being closed for many years now, the Thorpe Farm location is home to many Grade II listed buildings as the farm was actually designed to be a themed recreation of a s working farm and the park restored many of the existing farm buildings to their original 17 th Century designs. The ride included scenes depicting Sweeney Todd and Mrs. In the attraction was rethemed to Wicked Witches Haunt and underwent a UV painted update to modernise and improve the scenes within.
Witches and giant hairy tarantulas were also added throughout the attraction for a few extra scare moments! The attraction was sadly destroyed by a fire in the year leading to the permanent closure and demolition of the attraction. However, if it were to end up linked to Cartoon Quest it would need some slight retheming to just make it into a more cartoon-y style ride vehicle and ride entrance. However, it has been looking a little sad in recent years.
So what we would do would be to repaint the ride queue with greens and browns, and really optimise the jungle theming as much as possible. They could also add more theming in the tunnel to really make it feel jungle-y.
It just needs a little boost to make it look a bit more intentionally themed and a bit less dirty and forgotten. Nemesis Inferno — The main thing that really needs to be done on Nemesis Inferno is repainting the track. Currently it looks dull and faded and kind of just blends in with the rest of the park. Colossus — Again, this is in desperate need of repainting as it looks old and worn.
A sub sandwich place would also fit really well in this park. Amity Fish and Chips — The quality of food here needs to be improved. Lots of people would want to eat breakfast here, both people who want to get there early to get in the park first and people like us who want to wait for the chaos to calm down.
Throughout the day it would be a nice place to sit, maybe for adults to chill whilst teens go round the park, for school trip teachers to set up a base etc.
Even coach drivers to sit and chill whilst they wait for their passengers. Infernos Pizza And Pasta — We would completely redo this restaurant, both decor and food. It has really gone downhill since we started coming to the park. Shows Angry Birds Cinema — Having a cinema experience in this area is definitely a good idea, but the movement of the seats does need to be a little bit smoother as it really is very rough.
We were also thinking a partnership with DreamWorks could be a potential option because we know Merlin Entertainment already has a relationship with DreamWorks from the Shrek Experience in London and the fact that they have Madagascar at Chessington. Something that has been becoming increasingly popular in recent years at both Disney and Universal parks is projecting onto fountain screens accompanied by music, lights, and other fountain displays.
This could be a potential new show style for Thorpe Park, especially as there is space for a theatre-style seating area over by Vortex and Quantum. Shops Again the shops really need a good, thorough clean, especially on the outsides of them to make them more appealing and eye-catching. However, something we would change is to do with park entry. This means everyone wins.
This would be an extra event, so extra ticketing and exclusive access to the rides after dark, so we could charge more for that than regular park admission. There would also be potential again to use the fountain screens to have a projected show with fireworks in the background. Share this: Tweet.

Fresh lick of paint - I noticed around the park yesterday that a lot of areas are looking run down and at a poor standard. The main saw the ride sign in the plaza was looking awful yesterday with it fading a lot and the light flickering, a fresh coat of paint over this would be great. Colossus was also looking very poor, especially the supports looking run down, some paint on this would be great too! The entrance - This is more what I hope they solely work on at the end of the season, but there was just a black board up yesterday and no welcome sign etc.
A nice sign up and maybe some colour wouldn't go a miss, although not too much because a brand new entrance in with water fountains etc is what I'm hoping for. There's just a couple of points off the top of my head, what do YOU want to see them do in closed season? Marc 4 posts. TraX 4 posts. January 21, Surely at least ensure that the tunnel is DARK again, no?
November 15, Umm well obvs they are gonna remove the safari and station so they can put a hyper coaster across the back of the park. Sorry it took so long to elaborate Paint job basically explains it self. The rides are starting to look aged and one main reason is because the paint has rubbed away on the track. A touch of paint is defiantly something I would like to see, Colossus just looks so run down and worn out.
That and most of the rides fencing need to be repainted. A new entrance is something I would definatly like to see, but not necessarily too soon Anything up to 3 or 4 years is worth waiting I think. So yeah, pretty much what Ryan said. But most importantly, The Time Voyagers cinema needs to be re themed because walking in to see pirates on the walls really kills the atmosphere. As already said, sort the music out. Have chart music playing at the turnstiles and then to act as a good break point, go to the ride themes from the bridge onward.
I personally don't think the the Saw sign looking faded and a flickering light is too bad; again, Thorpe's good ol' "themes which can degrade overtime but still look good", they've honed it to a fine art park wide really.
Colossus, fresh coat of paint and clean up the park in general. Sort out the entrance and I know it won't be happening over this closed season because it's a massive project, get rid of the dome it just causes congestion. Little bits of entertainment like that go a long way. Entrance signs for the themed areasFresh lick of paint on Colossus and NemesisChart music stays in the entrance and doesn't extend into the park.
They need to sort the audio out, Colossus and Nemesis a fresh coat of paint and possible make Storm Surge fit in a bit more if that's possible. Repaint Colossus and give the ride a general tidy up, new que fences. Also fix broken speakers and redo the car park and get rid of that horrible gravel.
